How they work

When light shines on the solar panel cells it creates an electric field across the layers, causing electricity to flow.

Ideally the roof will be south facing, or near to an

angle of 30 degrees for optimum performance.

The electricity then flows through a cable and is collected

at a inverter which is often located in the roof space.

The electricity is then converted from a direct current

(DC) to an alternating current (AC) and carries on into

your home for you to use or go back into the grid.

A wall mounted unit can be fitted to allow you to

check on performance and usage of your system.
